A Different Kind of Business Buyer

A long-term home for good businesses.

Amity acquires successful New Zealand businesses and provides them with a long-term home.

We work with owners who care about what happens after they sell — to their people, their customers, their reputation and the business they have spent years building.

Our approach is deliberately different. We preserve what makes a business successful, support its leadership and provide the capital and perspective to help it prosper over the long term.

We buy businesses to own them, not to sell them.

More than
a transaction

Selling a business is about more than price. It represents years of work, relationships and responsibility, so finding the right buyer matters.

At Amity, we take time to understand what you have built, what matters to you and what you want for the future. Our aim is to provide liquidity and a clear succession pathway while protecting the qualities that made your business successful.

Continuity matters.

We preserve what works rather than reinventing it – strong people, loyal customers and established culture. Management continues to lead, supported by Amity’s capital, experience and long-term ownership.

More than a transaction

Every transition is tailored to the objectives of those involved.

A long-term home

Built to Own Businesses for the Long Term.

Many business buyers acquire with a future sale already in mind.

Amity is different.

We acquire businesses with the intention of owning them for the long term. There is no predetermined exit timetable requiring a business to be prepared for resale.

That changes the way we think about decisions.

We can focus on what is right for the business over years rather than what might maximise its value ahead of the next transaction.

Patient ownership. Long-term thinking. No predetermined exit.

Invest alongside
business owners

Amity gives external investors the opportunity to invest alongside business owners and Amity management in a growing portfolio of successful New Zealand businesses.

Each business retains its own leadership team while benefiting from Amity’s proven track record of strategic guidance and long-term ownership.

Our model aligns everyone around the same objective: building stronger, resilient businesses and creating lifelong value.

Amity means trust, respect, collaboration, and partnership

We chose the name because it reflects the way we believe business should be conducted. Every acquisition marks the beginning of a relationship built on trust and shared success.

We believe the best outcomes are achieved when all stakeholders – owners, staff, customers and investors all benefit. Our role is to balance those interests while providing stable ownership that allows businesses to grow with confidence.

Everything we do is guided by principles.

Partnership

Bringing owners, management and investors together with shared interests, long-term thinking and a commitment to building enduring businesses.

Transparency

Good partnerships require openness. We communicate clearly, share information and openly share how decisions are made and why.

Simplicity

Business doesn’t need to be complicated. We favour straightforward structures, clear responsibilities and sensible decisions.

Balance

We balance the interests of customers, employees, management, owners, investors and the business itself. Sustainable value is created when those interests align.

Building a group
of enduring businesses

Amity is building a diversified group of independently led New Zealand businesses.
Some businesses join Amity through acquisition. Others are established within the group where we see an opportunity to create complementary services and long-term value.
Each operates with its own leadership, identity and purpose.
